okay...i want you to go to your private library and look through at the poems you have there...

when you are done, i will like you to list down five to ten passionate poets in this thread and next to their names, the poem that you think is that poet's finest work...

thought we can do with an uplifting session over here....

p/s:if possible, do include the links to those poems too..will love to check them out when i have time to spare...

I would love to do this, BUT..I use my library as a 'rotating' holding area for the poems I want to select for upcoming issues of the newsletter. I'd like to keep them a surprise...but I love this idea!!

I wonder how many duplicates we'll have?

Tee hee I sure do! Trust me, I have even more, but, I showed discipline and stopped there, maybe I'll be back LOL

~I just want to celebrate the marvelous poets here and show everyone the links to their best poetry (in my humble opinion)!~

This was a great idea, Kaile!

Dopey_Dope: Why don't you pick 5-10 poets and show the links to their best poems?!

This was so hard, I've kept so many awesome things.  I mostly read in the Teen forums and that's why I'm posting so many from them.   Here's some of my favorites, not necessarily the author's best, but one's I like  :

6. Ina - What happens when sk8ers and gangsters go skinny dipping  (Teen Poetry #3)

I want to thank you, truly....I'm touched and always amazed that people remember me, or my words. I blush.

But like sharon? I also use the library as a "revolving door" so? it does change...as does my favorites...if I MUST choose a favorite? it's highly personal as to whether or not I relate to that particular style/idea at the time I read it...I wish I could I tell you that I look for meter and cadence and acumen of pen--but all truth be told? If I relate at the moment? IT'S A GREAT POEM!!! And, my feelings are probably the only personal creed I have. HUGS to all the brave poets of PASSIONS!

Lakewalker I'm truly honored!
Thank you.

I was very surprised to see my name.

I have a confession. I very rarely ever use my library. More on the side of never. One of those new changes I just never got used to. There are so many excellent poems that I've read by so many different poets. I'm just glad to be in this place surrounded by so many wonderful people

Allen!!!!!!!

I'm lazy today so I'd rather just name a few of my favorite poets to read.

Allen!!!!!!!! *grins* (and actually that's honest!)
Sven
Aimster
Walker
JLR
Meadowmuse
Sunshine
Jellybean King

and our newcomer whom I'm thrilled to say I've known for a couple years now, RMW!!! (who is an incredible writer)

VAS (who I've also had the pleasure of knowing from way back when, who can leave you breathless with her imagery)

And Severn.......whom I'm in complete awe of.

And I'm sure I'll be back to name a million more I've missed!

Well, before this site even had libraries I came across a poem by wayoutwalt, "Heaven's Touch," that is probably still my all time favorite here.
/pip/Forum31/HTML/002447.html

There are many others that have touched me but I don't have time to list them all right now - but I'll come back and finish later.

and if you've never read a poem by Michael Anderson, you've never lived...there is not one favorite that I can name.....do a search on his work..then read them all. They are simply perfection. Nothing less.

Yes...I second and third Poet D and Parker...
and I wish to offer a sample of Michaels work from my library...
and doing a search on his work here is highly recomended. The poetic lessons that can be learned from his work are endless.
His gift of expression and depth are equaled by his awe inspiring gift of rhyme and cadence.
This gifted man has poetry running thru his veins.
Thank you M, for all that you have taught and shared.

Talk about late... and long! LOL! But I've been around for a few days short of forever, long before the personal libraries existed. Some of the poets aren't around much anymore, but their words have left a permanent impression on my heart. And these poets are so incredibly gifted and talented, I'd be leaving off treasures if I chose 50 poems per poet! So believe me, limiting my list as much as I did was a sacrifice... With very few exceptions, I tried to highlight some of their work from the older forums, for I know it's tough to go back when there are so many poems posted every day. But believe me… there's a storehouse of treasures in the archives! *S* Also, I didn't do a great editing job, so some poems have been mentioned before, but I did drop some and/or substitute an equally deserving poem because a poem had already been mentioned in this thread.
My advice to anyone wanting immersion in perfect poetry is to read everything they've written. There isn't one of Martie's poems to Michelle that won't break your heart  and astound you with a mother's love. There isn't one of Balladeer's epics that won't enthrall and leave you amazed at his genius. Mark Bohannan's love poems are beyond comparison, and it's impossible to choose between them and his nature poetry and Native American poems… so enjoy them all and every facet of his talent. Marge will delight you with her whimsy and then touch you with her Cherokee pride and leave you feeling loved, whether she knows you yet or not. Toerag and LongJohn tippytoe around trouble and keep us giggling with their humor… and then astound us with their depth. Whatever the topic or mood, they never disappoint. My dear friend "Sybil" might change her name, but her talent is unmistakable, whatever the moniker. Janet Marie proves to us that love knows no bounds every time she writes with DeVante's assistance. Seymour paints with words as readily as a brush… and Elizabeth Santos reminds us with every poem that a poet for the ages can be born at any point in life.
And there are wonderful poets I didn't even try to list… which means I may add to this list later. *S* Janet Marie listed several of Michael's - do a search and read them all, for he and Nan take poetry to new levels. *S* ethome's words will make you sing, whether you know the tune or not. WhtDove and Sunshine write poems with the gentleness and grace their names suggest. And several wonderful poets are fairly new, so I didn't include their work.
And I'm blonde and busy… so I know I've missed some I intended to include. But I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this reason to read my old favorites again. I realized that I'd never even responded to some of these poems. Part of that's due to time constraints and part was due to a very dark, silent time when I read and absorbed and appreciated without comment. So I'll take this opportunity to thank all of passion's poets. I could have been more supportive… but I couldn't be more a fan. *S* To those who are my friends… and to those I only know through their words, I thank you very much.
And now…. da dum… *S*  in no particular order and with so many poets and poems left off, my list.

I have been bumped twice trying to answer this. I don't have nearly all the ones I want to list here, in fact I have a bad habit of saving onto my computer documents, and not putting the title in, though I have the author. Aack. SO I can't give any links, and this is such an incomplete list, and I apologize for any not on the list that should be (everyone else!)

Serenity:
Lingered Rhyme
Grafitti
Aone Again
In My Silent Disarray

Mark Bohannon:
Giving In

Mark Sheldon:
Princess of Paradox

Will Yeats:
A Touch of Chablis

Doreen Peri:
Chardonnay and about 100 others..

Melissa Honeybee:
Evermore

Meadowmuse:
Far Away

Sunshine:
Cleaning House

Michael Anderson:
By the Dawn

Hardrock:
Just one Night

My Enchanted Meolody:
Sleeping Beauty

Sven:
Fairest Maiden Of Mine Heart

Sunnyone:
Pieces

Marge:
Current Juliet Poem-Just read it a  minute ago

So many more by so many others, this feels too incomplete, I am stressing over this thread

I'm gonna have to agree with a few of you, anything by Michael Anderson is absolutely a great read. Michael bleeds poetry.
If ever there was a true poet to rival the likes of Poe and Keats and Frost, Michael is truly that poet! Plainly put, Michael Anderson writes with all the wonder of every poet I have ever had the privilege to read!!! He truly pictures with words.
