Have You Seen My Love Tonight?

Have you seen my love tonight?
He left our fragrant bed
He’s heading toward horizon’s edge
Aglow in sunset red

He left aboard a dreamer’s craft
With billowing sails full blown
Translucent veils of confidence
That shroud the sea’s unknown

To seek that starlit fantasy
That urge for golden bliss
Sailing past the isle of splendor
Blind to what he missed

Have you seen my love tonight
Adrift on ocean swells
Looking for a treasure dream
His youthful heart compels

He left the gift of love behind
So unaware the loss
Still drifting on the open sea
Beneath the Southern Cross

I now have sought a different dream
And all my dreams came true
But still his memory lingers here
In shades of midnight blue

The days and nights of life pass by
And yearning turns to dread
Have you seen my love sail by
Aglow in sunset red?

Elizabeth...
I can only say that this poem is perfect, in every way. I love the way it flows so smooth, and paints such pictures as I read.   It's beautiful.......

Elizabeth, you have such a glorious talent!Your perfect rhymes and rhythms spurring exquisite mental pictures, wringing out emotions one by one… again and again such gorgeous verses. A languid, engaging read as well. (Oh, and I like the repetitive of the first stanza as the last… lovely touch)

Oh Liz
Lovely tender thoughts

I hope you see
your love tonight
Shining in all
thats bright tonight

I hope you sail
upon a thousand sea's
Riding waves of ecstasy

I hope you see
your love tonight
Shining brightly
As your love
TONIGHT

Love ya Liz

Elizabeth - I'm glad all your dreams came true.  Still, there is nothing quite like a lost love and you tell the story of this one so beautifully.

Oh Liz ... your poems continue to touch my heart both with the depth of their meaning and messages, and for the lyrical flow which so sweetly sings to me. Just loved this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Elizabeth,
C'est Magnifique, I'm not sure of the spelling so I checked it on the spell check and it came up with magnifico. Either one is good. Very proud of you and he's not gone.

So this is how a poem is supposed to flow.
I can only wish mine would flow half that well. Wonderful poem. I really enjoyed it

Liz-

I cannot but echo my predecessors - you flow, rhythm and rhyme - have made this perfect - and a copy goes in my treasure box

intersting how we desperately want to hold onto every part of love that touches our heart...James
