When the sun ever touches this darkness I wonder if I will be there the cold and the deep I hear calling for a rest and escape from the tears If the heart is sung to its last drop will the pain of a love disappear or is torment the wind of emotion for the souls, in the ships ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am so impressed, can see myself in your words....want to make a thread, and read this one again.... thank you for sharing. If you squeeze a heart so lonely will it bleed its sad red song does it sing a sorrowful melody with the oceans gentle throng I've boarded a ship of destiny black waters of ruffled silk ========================= A light that never rises on horizons of distant dreams and a hope that lays more quiet then my pillow beneath the sea Lost in the shadowy places my moon with its icy beam =================== I lean on the keel of searching for a glimmer that she may be there ==================== When the sun ever touches this darkness I wonder if I will be there the cold and the deep I hear calling for a rest and escape from the tears If the heart is sung to its last drop will the pain of a love disappear ================== very very cool P-man...smooth as butter this is an awesome write your imagery is very cool ... the emotions pull hard at the heartstrings haunting and lovely in its longing your cadence has a melody all its own with out your treat of musical accompanyment this was a pleasure to read aloud to myself but once it loaded and getting to hear you read it .. well ... need I say more getting out the pedestals sweets ... this is the way poetry is supposed to make us feel very cool Parker ... very jm No one ever told me ... I could get lost while standing still ... and sorrow doesnt make a sound ... as it takes away all your will. |

The mp3 file is quite large, you may need to download it to hear it.... It seems to load fine on my machine since I have cable to the internet.... but I think you may have to just wait a good long time the first time while it loads. It took me 2 minutes the first time. Anything less then cable speeds may take quite a bit longer..... sorry. Here is a link to the mp3 file to download it. smaller version without afterwards vocals... http://www.asylumcafe.com/merge1.mp3 larger version with afterwards vocals. http://www.asylumcafe.com/merge1.mp3 Parker [This message has been edited by Haleyja (edited 01-12-2001).] |

WOW and WOW again!!! Now THIS is how it's supposed to be!!! Ahhhhh Parker, this was just lovely! It took me only a few minutes to download, and what a wonderful treat this was. To read your words was wonderful enough ... but to hear your voice and intonations as you recited ... 'twas simply heavenly! Perfect music, wonderful flow ... yes, this is how it's meant to be! Can you tell I loved this? What a treat! Best wishes, /Kit [This message has been edited by Kit McCallum (edited 01-13-2001).] |

Okay...so you impressed the cowboy with this one but you did that a long time ago with just the typed words. Excellent my friend and I applaud you not only on the poem but in your reading as well. Superbly written and read. |

First of all....your voice is so smooth like satin. Secondly, the poem was beautiful. I had my husband listen to it and his comments were "Man that guy is awesome!" This comes from a man who writes no poetry, but feels it when presented well, and this was fantastic! I agree with the others....this is how poetry should be done. I can now say I don't regret kicking out the 56k and going with cable. How can you save me? WOW! < !signature-->*sigh* sigh...sigh...sigh, did I mention that your gentle voice and your words made me sigh? This is absolutely phenomenal and BEAUTIFUL and haunting! I can relate and I feel every word! Where the heck have I been I can't believe that I missed this gem for so long. The download was worth the wait, what a treat. You choose perfect background music. The theme, the flow, the expression, the thought, the unique lines were ALL perfect! You should be so very proud of this. I am sure that the others will agree with me when I say Thank You for treating us to this recital. What a clever idea it was! - you may even be starting a new trend here. You could even recite my poems (which do not compare to yours), you'd make even the most amateur poems sound wonderful! What a treat! And what an unusual idea! You wrote a beauty, and read it well, and the flute, well, I was in goose-bumps the whole way through. Thank you very much!!! I'm glad I'm paying for cable! I've downloaded the longer version too, but can't listen to it right now. But I will, as soon as my husband gets done writing what he's working on! (We write in the same study.) |

Parker, I fell in love with a lot of your poems, so I went hunting and found this. Oh boy am I glad I did. This is truely awesome. I read the poem several times while it was downloading, but to hear you read it showed me what you really meant. That is what I love, to hear the poets version, not my idea of what it is. You are an amazing poet, thank you for sharing this with us all. And I have to agree with the other ladies...the voice is pretty hot too. WOW! Sea, analogy, beautiful swaying poetry and a lovely reading voice. It doesn't get any better than this! Poetry was always meant to be spoken. Some just do it better than others. Read many superlatives..... "I am not now that which I have been." |
