' what if tears
were like India Ink? '
I asked my mother
when I old enough to think
" What if." was all
that she could say
' everytime you cried,'
I said
' you'd leave a trail
there to stay '
' everyone would know '
I said
' how often you had cried,
whenever someone hurt you
abused you,
or hwen your friends had said goodbye'
my mother nodded
lost for words
and so I did go on
'and then we might
think twice ' I said
' before someone else we'd wrong'
' but I'm sure there's some
who'd fae their grief
their tears
grown cold from years
of clinging to
dark sorrows
to claim prestige for their Tears '
and then I thought
of Africa
where skin is dark
to sight
would they cry
with different tears?
to mark
the trails white?
I gave up in my pondering
and left things
as they are
for God, is wise
and makes the eyes
of ALL
both far and near
flow clear, when sadness
hope and joy
through tears that fall
see no differance in
Man Woman Girl and Boy

interesting thoughts

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.

I love the depth of this. A little deeper, a little further, wonderful.

Another great one here Son!

As I read this, I couldn't help but think of those that cry inside...so that others won't know of their pain. Your answer that God in his wisdom notices the tears of sadness or joy....was great. Such a nice poem...Twilah

I love the way you see things Sol...makes a person (like me) stop and say, "Whoa...he's put into words things I've felt before..." What can I say but marvelous work! Looking forward to more hits from the 'Sol' train!

You have a way of capturing thought waves with your style of writing and what you put into it from your perspective. I am really enjoying your poetry as it exercises my mind.
