~After A Sleepless Night~

*!*
The moon began its fall
As if bowing hearing footsteps
Of a distant rising dawn

As if loosening itself
From the dimming necklace
Of the melting night
*!*
Light crimsoned twilight
Spread its young new-born wings
Over the summer earth

As little winged friends
Chirped love songs in bird-speak
As if willing me to dance
*!*
Songs of the feathered ones
I somehow grasped to be lullabies
To a lonely soul pouring pain

Realising the end of night
And that another storm had passed
I could try and find sleep
*!*

Sudhir-beautifully written and your imagery was astounding.......many times have I felt like this and have not been able to express it in any way....you have done so not only with completeness but with a haunting beauty as only you could do.  Great one.

THe word "beautiful" fails to describe this poem add " absolutely" and it still doesn't express the splendour of this poem. Maybe beauty squared and multiplied by 50. I was never any good at maths so I don't know if that even adds up.

Oh Sudhir ... I believe this might be my favorite of yours thus far!  Incredible imagery ... simply lulled me into a whistful and melodic trance ... beautiful!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Hi Sudhir Iyer,
Oh my, and to think that I almost went by. I should lock myself in the bedroom for thinking such a thing. Magnificent as always, true to form, and I am so very glad that I came by.

Oh dear, If I copied all the lines I  enjoyed here, I would simply be reprinting the entire poem again!
A beautiful piece of imagery
