~After A Sleepless Night~ *!* The moon began its fall As if bowing hearing footsteps Of a distant rising dawn As if loosening itself From the dimming necklace Of the melting night *!* Light crimsoned twilight Spread its young new-born wings Over the summer earth As little winged friends Chirped love songs in bird-speak As if willing me to dance *!* Songs of the feathered ones I somehow grasped to be lullabies To a lonely soul pouring pain Realising the end of night And that another storm had passed I could try and find sleep *!* |

Great one. |

THe word "beautiful" fails to describe this poem add " absolutely" and it still doesn't express the splendour of this poem. Maybe beauty squared and multiplied by 50. I was never any good at maths so I don't know if that even adds up. Hi Sudhir Iyer, Oh my, and to think that I almost went by. I should lock myself in the bedroom for thinking such a thing. Magnificent as always, true to form, and I am so very glad that I came by. |

Oh dear, If I copied all the lines I enjoyed here, I would simply be reprinting the entire poem again! A beautiful piece of imagery "A clay pot sitting in the sun will always be a clay pot. It has to go through the white heat of the furnace to become porcelain." --Mildred W. St |
