this is for two special friends of mine, and for me... well....I guess this is for a lot of us who fight the fight inside.... but we all knew the fight was fixed my own personal war... I am the commander in chief I am responsible for word and deed. All decisions made come back to me. When all is said and done I know I have to chose my battles wisely because, I am the soldier who fights the fight I am the one who hates the hate I am the one who loves the love and when I break, I am the one who cries the tears. When I crumble I am the casualties I am the one who didn't make it up the hill. I am the one who hurts, bleeds and dies. I am the medic who rushes in to pick me up and nurse me back into this world, bandage the wounds and carry me home to my safe place to look for healing there. But we all knew the fight was fixed so it was up to me to rally the troops, to call in for reinforcements... cause in the end I have to look me in the eye. (and the allies all stood ready by and cheered) [This message has been edited by fc (edited 02-02-2000).] |

A great reminder that we are the Captian of our ship, the master of our fate. We are responsible for everything that happens to us. This poem expresses an important message and that holds true for all. Well written! Danny |

Danny's right... Henley's Invictus is one of my favorite poems... "In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud... Under the bludgeonings of chance, my head is bloody but unbowed." Still, the memories are hell. *S* Wishing peace to you and those friends. *S* |

The imagery indeed is quite vivid, and you've brought forth most everyone's silent thoughts on their true inner feelings. Well done, fc! Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |
