Come down, my friend, come gently down And settle on the flower And place wet beads upon the blade And moisten draping bower But do not make a single sound My love is sleeping still So fall onto the morning earth In silence if you will Reach out, my friend, toward pointed beams Embrace the rising sun Consume the warmth assigned each leaf The day has just begun Unwrap your flaunting petal wings Bathe each in perfume balm But don't allow the fragrance stir His most exquisite calm Please let my love rest peacefully Still draped in midnight’s fold And do not let your garish beams Disturb his dreams of gold So radiate in measure, friend Shine prisms through the glass But don’t cast rainbows on his face Or in his darkness pass Sing out your morning song, my friend But trill more quietly Do not disturb his slumber from Atop the dogwwod tree I could not bear that he should wake By morning bird or mist Or roses spreading to the light Or sunbeam's playfulness For it is I who wants to wake him With a tender loving kiss Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 06-05-2000).] |

Elizabeth, of the morning song~ Stirring ... beauty from your heart. What gentle thoughts so displayed with ease. You rock the cradle gently with your verse. My, my ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

You certainly painted a vivid picture, lush images, flowing words and a beautiful romantic ending. wonderful poem. This is simply beautiful Elizabeth! God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

Balladeer, Don't you ever throw your pens away, I depend on them too much for my inspitation. And besides, poet pens don't come cheap, esspecially those with muses included. (The muse plumes) Then, of course, there's your work part time as meter man. But, you know, a Rembrandt would be nice too. My suggestion, just stick tp your exquiste poetry Liz Denise, Thank you for coming and spending time with me. Thank you for your support and for your help. The saga didn't end when you left. I will e-mail you. You brightened my day Liz Maree Whatever you penned from your heart is the most beautiful poem in the world to you and two your loved ones, the most important readers Liz Jana, And poetry is as magical as love Thank you Liz Eagle one. Thank you so much for reading and respondind Liz |

this belongs in a gallery of fine poetry.< !signature--> "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. The Bumble Bee has landed ....... Landed on the flower, heard you whisper this poem, his heart gave up, decided to be silent lest he unwittingly wakes up your blessed love who would rather be awakened by ... Well, the bumble bee decided enough was enough and left the flower after chewing on the pollen grains and searching for honey, but the love he saw as an image from the words that he heard, made him realise there is something that is sweeter than the honey that he collected... Though saddened at his discovery that what he had collected was not the sweetest thing, but then he had just discovered love, he flew to his love and there was a garden in full bloom.... Liz, this is beautiful poetry from you as always, but this one is one of the very special ones , and a brilliant gift to me after coming back from the heavenly sea side of Venice... Thanks for giving me the courage to catch up on my work and the pleasure of continuing with the discovery of more poems posted in the last few days... Regards, sudhir Hey you, out there in the cold, Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me? Hey you, standing in the aisle, With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me? Hey you, don't help them to bury the light. Don't give in without a fight. Hey you, out there on your own, Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me? Hey you, with your ear against the wall, Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me? Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home.... by Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - The Wall |

Just leave it to Sudhir to read a poem and on the whim of imagination, create a little bee with aesthetic tastes, who after days of hard labor, would abandon his most treasured fruits of labor for the sake of love. And then be so inspired as to create a magnificent flower garde. Sudhir, I believe you have just created the makings for a new ballad. And I would like to deicate this poem to the little bee. I hope you are well, and please send my regards to"you know who" LIz |
