"Fly Butterfly, Fly"

Spirit sad and broken
She weeps these tears of pain
As the thunder outside roars on
Down comes pouring rain

Heart a jumbled mess
Soul feeling empty with a gaping hole
All the lies and deceit
Has taken its final toll

I watch in silence
Not knowing the words to say
In silence we sit together
Trying our best to find our way

Dark gray skies loom from up above
Not a single ray of light
Tired and weary
She no longer wants to fight

In her cacoon she hides
This pain she can no longer take
Empty smiles and laughter
No longer can she fake

I wrap the cacoon with my love
And a simple prayer I say
Please dear Lord
Make tomorrow a better day

I look at her fragility
Then notice the silk, woven so fine
That's when I believe
There is someone up above who is great and devine

Right before my very eyes
I watch the cacoon unfold
The wonder and beauty amazes me
The very essence of her soul, in that one moment told

The dark clouds break
Sunlight streams down
A smile replaces her face
Where once there was a frown

Tears of happiness
We now both cry
As I softly whisper to my love
Fly butterfly, fly

THIS, my friend, is outstanding!  I knew you were a great poet, but this has proven me wrong.  You are an extremely talented poet.  Yes, you.  Mmm hmm.  Love this!
