When I Come Home |

Yea! Daddy's home for the rest of the day and night Can we go outside while there's still sunlight? And daddy lets go down the street for a little walk When we get to that tree we'll stop for a talk Can you tell me a secret about clouds and rain? And what makes it fly, that thing called a plane? Hey! What is that music? That jingley sound? Can I have ice cream when the truck comes around? I got new rocks for my collection, one white - one red Can I sleep with these tonight when I go to bed? Here's a flower for mom; here's one for you too Look, I can do a summersault: how about you? Here kitty-kitty. Can I have a cat? When I get older I want one just like that I'll race you back to the house! I won! I won! I sure do like running fast; wasn't that fun? You know what daddy; you know what I think? I love you a lot; I think you're great! Thanks for the walk little one, I love you too How I do enjoy coming home to a daughter like you |

Isn't it wonderful to marvel at the innocent gifts of a child? I hope that one day she will be able to read what you have wrote...she is a lucky little girl. blueloon ------------------ To give yourself keeps yourself still, And you must live, drawn by your own sweet skill. -shakespeare And so of you, beauteous and lovely youth, When that shall vade, by verse distills your truth. -shakespeare |

I'm available too ! Who said anything about adoption ? ; ) Very nice piece - kids starve for quality time with their parents...I think this is a beautiful example....if we could only devote the whole day to them....I think our kids would grow up to be better people....keep up the good work! ------------------ - poet FemmeFatale "The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone..." well, Andrew - there goes my inspiration for writing a poem about a mean Daddy. Yep - right out the ol' window. I hope you're proud of yourself... killing my ambition like that! I loved your poem. It does bring forth a ton of regret about all the missed opportunities I've had. |

Thank you one and all! Your responses are the icing on the cake. Blueloon: She'll get to hear it tonight on our walk around the block. Lady E: I'll post as many as I can. Good to hear from you. Sir Balladeer: I think you're beyond the age limit for a tax deduction, but I welcome you to the family any time. PoetFemmeFatale: I'm lucky to be in a position that allows my wife to stay home and raise our childer. She has the hardest job in the world, but it pays in spades. LngJhnAg: Glad I could be of assistance Regrets we all got, its what you do with the here and the now that matters. Toerag: Beat ya to it! Glad you liked. Enjoy em while their young and think you can do no wrong. Suthern: Just following in the footsteps of my own childhood. Thanks to mom and dad. if more people would realize the magic of parenthood and childhood and focus on that instead of money and success, i believe that this world we love in would be that much brighter. keep up the great work ------------------ --------------------- "What dreams may come?" Guiltborn |

Children are our most precious commodity. Their innocence creates a love unbreakable. Their enthusiasm energizes family, and friends. Their smiles create a mirrored reflection Their cuddles are to bask in forever. I loved this, Your family is blessed. With your kindness you could have a dozen, and you'd still be smiling. Lost Dreamer: TWELVE! Did you say TWELVE! I refuse to be outnumbered parent to child. Self preservation is high on my list. As it is, it's three to one, male to female; and that's not including the girl hamster. I like it just the way it is, thank you very much. TWELVE! Ahhhhhhhh..... Thanks for the kind words Dreamer. Lady Hoot: I think we're both pretty lucky. Thanks for stopping by. |

A lovely reminder of afternoons with my dad. I hope that later on, when she's able, your daughter can pay back the praise, Andrew. You seem to be so very deserving. |
