Ok, last year we did a little masquerade challenge in which members wrote in the style of other members.
I thought it a fun week or two

But instead of selecting the honoree from just a few members, write (dress up) as anyone you like.
The poet's archive is a good reference

Try to do the poet justice, ( more difficult than you can imagine) the rest of us can try to guess who is being honored.

(mention "Masquerade" in the title if you take up the challenge)

At some point, let us all know whos costume you wear.

Just remember that if you find someone wearing your clothes, its a compliment!

Any takers this year?

Yes?

No?

I, myself, need to consider if I'm even up to it.

Here's a taker...

which I'm not much good at, being more of a giver...

Oh, decisions, decisions!

Hmmm, the inherent problem with fine writers, writing as fine writers, is that it leaves the reader open to every possibility.

Not at all a bad thing, unless one's life depended on a correct guess.

It's like the trouble I sometimes have distinguishing between Charles Simic, Thomas Lux and C.K.Williams...

Also, not a bad thing

Bye the way....All of the writes are awesome and I'll visit them again soon to comment

Thank you all

Hugging you dear Ed, for you have set this board on fire with some damn fine writing!
Plus, you've put a halt to all of us whining
that ol "I WISH I HAD WRITTEN THAT!"
LOL, but it's not easy to emulate another writer's style and tone, and have it come out as something more of them than myself!
A good exercise in holding another's pen.

This was way too much fun...looking at all the costumes!

And so many! We're gonna have to push the furniture to the walls to make more room.

Maybe this should be an annual thing, eh?

Thanks everyone! This turned out better than I'd hoped!

Ed...

Ed, isn't this officially the second annual? LOL, I agree, it must be an annual costume ball. It gives off such positive vibes, such comraderie, and stimulates our hearts and brains. You are a genius, my friend, as well as a sweetheart and a fine poet.
