Mitchell stood at the bow Of his own luxury liner Feeling so small Compared to the heights Peal had taken him Watching her disappear In the black of the limo Becoming distant Beyond the cliffs of Of the ocean wall He knew this was not her name Beautiful all the same Recalling his childhood Growing up with “Painted Ladies” On the “Cherry Farm” Out in the Navada wasteland He was pampered and spoiled Loved and adored His Mother, the Madam He knew her private toil As he grew well in the card games The tricks of the trade Paid...him respect By always leaving him With a newfound swindle Under his belt His heart was golden His Mother’s love Was real Even though they dwelled Among small time criminals On her death bed She decided it was time He knew who his real father was He was worth more than a dime Even though some raised a brow At her chosen profession She was reposed At knowing Her son came from millions Though she was unwanting That her little boy Be splashed as the ******* Son. As her secret lover Would never marry A tumbleweed From the desert’s tarry The sands had many demands And she met them all Proudly Even in death He couldn’t rest Until he found a love To make up For all the love swept under the sands as a young man His new money made no difference But Pearl surely did As his heart Would go insane Until he learned her real name Wishing for the new day To hurry and rise to its highest He blinked at the thought Edwardo might not like The fact That he desired to posses his gem “Best Man Wins” He coin tossed “heads up” into the fog Burning daylight Landing lucky As he knew it would

With this one, you gave us further emotional insight to a character, and continued with the crisp imagery that marks your work...Very Good, Regina! Robert "Willie Breezin" |

I'm sorry, the deleted word was that of an illegitimate son. Thank you all for following along my tale spin. I hope to conclude this...as I don't want to go on forever...the ending is near..but I have to go on a trip this weekend and will be away for 4 days...unless I sneak someone's lap top! So please don't be disappointed in me if the end hasn't come by then. My plate is full and I know you're all ready for the end by now ~Laugh. Someday..I'll thank you in a much bigger way! Hugs for your patience! Sincerely, Regina It's all in the mind |

Ah...enjoying this still. Do take care on the rewrite when this is ready to be published to watch for some of the spelling faux pas...otherwise a terrific read! |
