~*~

I wanted to cry myself to sleep
but I am so tired now
instead I tender my tears
and swallow them whole.

Letting my heart spill over into emptiness
soaking wet in some kind of love
until they are fermented
bottled up without a label
wedged inside myself.

I can still smell the heady bouquet
knowing you would toss it back
and I would mop up the mess
without leaving a stain.

In my stupor
sipping silently
I raise my glass to you
celebrating my resignation
and all that I lacked.

Trembling down the length of sleep
in the wake of my ache
sliding far and away
I pray it will hold me to it
this time.

Lori

"I wanted to cry myself to sleep

and swallow them whole"

I have felt this, but could not have said it...you did!  To speak the words gives you power over the ache in you.

o those girliegirl tears, those big eyed sob drops, get me everytime......what are we going to do with those badboys that make us cry them time and time again?
kiss them over and over for being men.

Thanks to each of you for reading my poor poor pitiful me poetry.
I have so run out of tears, but it still hurts like...hell!
And I don't know what to do about it, so I write.

How beautifully you express your ache and how your words have moved me.  I wish I knew the secret of how to avoid turmoil in a life but, Bluesy, if we don't give our all how can we expect to receive all.  If we lose in that endeavour - I guess we simply write it out in the hope that it will all go away or at least go somewhere where it has some meaning and purpose.  Take care, fair lady.

LORI
EXCELLENT WRITE AS YOU HAD THIS BIG LUG IN TEARS (A RAREITY). I PRAY THAT AS YOU SLEEP TONIGHT THAT YOU FIND PEACE AS YOU ARE WRAPPED IN THE LOVING ARMS OF THE LORD.FOR HE WILL CATCH YOUR EVERY TEAR WITH A KISS AND STORE THEM AWAY UNTIL YOU TRADE THEM IN ON THE RICHNESS OF HIS JOY

I wasn't sure why I did it at the time, but when I wrote this poem.....

/pip/Forum79/HTML/001781.html

....I saved a copy of the ID thumbnail, of the person I wrote it for. I have wanted recently to send her that little pic, in the hope that with that little hint she might start to use it again....because it's lovely and it shows a part of her spirit that some other pictures don't.

I'm glad I didn't need to.....but I've still got it.

As always I hope, and in some ways I'm sure, that when you raise that quiet toast....somewhere another glass is raised as well.

Hugs Bluesy Girl:
As you write this out...this seige of anguish that will not seem to abate...
You become so much richer in the context of your heart and soul.  I am learning the same lessons.  Your talent abounds, as does the sea of all you are.

This is excellent poetry my friend.

I hope you can write out the storm.
