Afterspell

after the magic, after the spell
while our spirits
still wound together
coast through the dusk world
created only by for us

more sequestered
than a forbidden island
yet altogether familiar,
our muted mutual contours
bare to the edge
of the tide we’ve made

unable and unwilled
to last only beyond release
and drift within
warmth and drift without
surcease, shallow and deep
the waking sleep

how we’ve tumbled together
into the ends of our
selves as we I you blended
into singularity

while the spell winds on
the charm winds threads
into a net of passion
returned returning

surging again

I'm not sure why or how. I read their duet ( /pip/Forum83/HTML/000018.html ) just now and this came from somewhere deeper inside me than my candle will penetrate.
