Out From Beneath My Rock
Out from beneath my rock I come,
I have felt empty and sad for too long,
The bright new light is shocking,
So truly scary,
Yet, so truly wonderful.

A dear friend showed me out of that despairing whole,
He took me under his wing,
I opened up, though, I did not want to,
But realized,
That it was the best thing I had ever done.

He opened up my heart,
He opened up my mind,
And showed me,
That I really did have something to offer.

Thinking I was unintelligent,
Like I could not do a thing,
Thought everyone was against me,,
And that everything always went wrong,
Because of him,
I can think again,
I can feel again,
It is truly something unforgettable.

I was a little reluctant at first,
To show him what was inside,
Trying hard not to speak,
He pushed me gently every day,
Never giving up,
Until I finally let it all out,
Now the trust is so deep,
It runs like a river.
So swift and so strong.

The bond we built and still have to this day,
Is so right,
I will never let it go,
For as long as I live.

When you find that you are alone and empty,
Look for that one person,
Who truly thinks you’re something,
Confide in them,
Trust in them
For it is the best thing you will ever do,,
Because nobody deserves to be alone,
Not even you.
