There was a bear outside the window of my bedroom how it called? why crash the trash of course I heard the beer bottles fall To light the source no raccoon could have that big a rump no way a skunk could walk away from the chili I had dumped Just as I peered quietly out into the night it ambled down the alley not afraid of my plain sight Wake me not at midnight though I'm sorry for your plight if my chili isn't good enough then you can take a hike! |

Martie, Fun write. I have a bear story from a camping trip with my parents that was pretty intimidating for a nine year old. Good luck pushing a bear around. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

Whoa! A real bear outside your window? Are you sure it wasn't the neighbor? How scary! It made for a quaffy tale. Liz |

Remind me to not visit you. At least during bear season. I enjoyed your little tale. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Ah, the things that bump in one's night... You make it real, the feel, and sound... most likely because it is and found a poet who could relate. |

Martie, we have bears around here, too, but I've never seen one in town...yet. Mostly, it is deer eat my roses, but even they have not been around this summer. Your poem is clever and left me smiling. Hugs, Karen |
