In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-06-08 10:27 AM

For Lanore, Donna, Raymond, Donnie, Charles and Richard: I am standing beside you now learning to fly.

Every room in the house is painted:
      emerald green

We drew pictures in windows,
   watched the stars,
and the moon fall

Her tongue was frozen
I wonder if she
   felt the cut
of eight tiny salt
pellets exposing the wounds

In unlit earth
you can never plant
dreams among the soil,

    colors blending,
will fall from your eyes;

   stones promising
the throw would never
be to far    in a gardens walk

You can no longer look
over with a view of clouds
and waves   and speak--

He left     footprints
smeared on  steps;
strangers   in his stride

I let go long before
you knew    I have forgiven
all your thoughts of being human

My first taste-
    drink the sea  for:
everyone who has
walked before me
with heavy bags and bitter eyes

Believe me I am screaming--
    I don’t keep calendars--

a part of me bent  in sage
and crimson skies
I have learned that much

Knowing words  could never
   change the feelings
someone else understands--

I won’t let myself
remember the center
of my eyes,
how you tapped    each blink
for your happiness  draining ours

I should be stronger:
the second part of my life
has arrived
I hear the children calling me -
silence never fails

Still it remains
the guitar       falling
is broken

    the frost on windows
still      dampens the wings
of butterflies   learning

to fly

I would rather have one breath of his hair,
one kiss of his mouth,
one touch of his hand
than an eternity without it.

(smiles) Oh Lauren, you always express yourself with such surreal poetic beauty, this is wonderful with a tinge of sadness! (kiss on cheek) May the summer heat melt the frost off those windows and have the butterflies in your heart flitter on and on, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Dear friend, the sun must shine, life must be nurtured, before the growing can begin...

you have no idea how much this has lifted me above that plateau that I have been stuck on these last few days...it gives one so much hope.

~ together my precious friend....you will all learn to fly.....~

Like a red brick,
in a white wall
somebodies brush
forgot to paint...
lonely....(as sung by Tracy Lawrence..)

Lauren
You are such a soulful poet that I get really involved in reading your work and I enjoy it so much.. I've been a blues songwriter for years and I seem to relate really well.....So I thank you for that and will look forward to your next post.
These words and lines are the kind of thoughts some songs are made of...

              "He left     footprints
               smeared on  steps;
               strangers   in his stride

               I let go long before
               you knew    I have forgiven
all your thoughts of being human"

Have a nice day!
