for my father..i wanted to visit him last nite..to talk..to hear what he had to say..to see his smile..but he couldnt hear me..he couldnt speak to me....my visit took place in a cemetary--his home now..on a cold, wet, dec night..amongst dead people..where i stamped my feet..and screamed..and whispered when i had no voice..and he's been there since i was 16..and it still rains sometimes.... ---------------------------------------------------- it still rains sometimes i peek inside and find a shattered rain cloud or two diamonds falling splashing the face of anguish i still need you sometimes now more than ever i came to talk to you but i cried instead i shook from the cold and the storm inside it still rains sometimes but the parade marches on as scheduled just the same 12-16-00 |

Welcome to Passions. This is a very touching piece. Keep talking to your Dad, he still hears you. Know in your heart he will always be with you no matter where you are. |

FallenRain~ A softly spoken piece of anguish from your heart. When the rain falls on our memories, it's often hard to hear the sounds of voices of our past. I offer an umbrella of friendship that you will find comforting here among the friends at Passions In Poetry. Keep writing. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

fallen rain, this was a wonderful piece. I lost my father when I was 4. I needed him many times in life, today I get what I can from the stories of his life and the pictures that still exist. Maybe I was blessed to not have known my father as well as you got to know yours in 16 years... but I believe not. Carry those 16 years with you and when you need them and him maybe you'll find something their to help or draw on. Parker |

The soul is the essence of thought. and thought is proven to be a form of energy. In science it is proven that energy can not be destroyed only changed. When we die our energy only changes form it goes on forever. He hears you. If you think of him he lives on. Well written poem. |

Dee love, Oh love, what can I say, except sometimes it feels as if the whole world is coming down around your ears. My Daddy died when I was 5, well I wasn't actually quite five. My birthday being in Jan, it was Christmas day, but only just. He worked in London, and was coming home on Christmas Eve, and at 12:01 am a drunk driver lost control of their car and crashed headfirst into Dads car coming on the other side of the road. Then there was no more Daddy. But I know there is life after death, I've even seen him a couple of times. Like when I really needed to, and everyone needs to sometimes. Anyway this was an absolutely amazing piece from you, it really is. So utterly descriptive, so poignant, and so heartfelt. Love this one Dee, I really do, another ace piece. Take care Bubbles Love it excellant work Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

Welcome to passions, you made a grand entrance with this touching piece. Beautiful and bittersweet are just two of the many words that come to mind when describing this poem. I find, that it's often the personal poems that touch other poet's hearts the deepest and you touched mine, it made me think of my Grandma. I'm sincerely sorry for your loss, but know that he is watching you and is very proud of your talent as a poet. I'm sure that those "diamonds falling" from the sky are your daddy's tears of joy. Keep sharing your poems with us! ~Melissa~ The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams |

Well my friend, this one really got to me and whether the dead are dead or not doesn't diminish the wonderful memories that you hold within you and in my belief that is how the dead will forever live. Through the hearts and memories of those that still remain here among the living. Beautiful and heartfelt piece from you. Now watch out for that other cowboy coming to give you that spanking. That is unless of course you don't want to hide. Hugs to you and I hope that the storm in your heart finds a little peace through your release here with this wonderful verse of yours. A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. author unknown |

Fallen Rain..... Let me start by welcoming you to Passions. You'll find that you'll be able to vent, scream, cry and laugh here, and find many caring friends along the way. Your piece touched me in a way that reminded me..... never let a day go by with out saying "I love you" I couldn't imagine the pain of loosing my Dad or my Mom. You have written a wonderful piece that expresses your feelings quite well..... < !signature--> ~Sheri "The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first" [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 12-17-2000).] |

Fallen Rain, This is a heartfelt and beautiful piece penned straight from your heart. I felt your pain and anguish deeply. From someone who knows I can only say this. I lost my Mom when I was just barely 17. I do believe she hears me and is with me just as I believe your Dad is with you. Never give up on that thought. I know it is hard sometimes as we can not see them nor hear them, bt I do believe they see and hear us. I look foward to reading more of your work. Take care. ~amy ~A true friend is one soul in two bodies~ |

I know how you feel Dee..my dad's birthday will be in two days and he passed only 3 years ago..starting off my writing addiction..this one reminds me of your visit to the cemetary...huggzzz ~Wynter Needing You Visited today... climbed the rolling green hill. Words prepared, when reaching you, were gone. Weakly, gliding shaking hand over strong gray marble, warmed by the sun's heat familiar names on either side, brought to mind happier times. Surrounded by ocean blue skies huge clouds floating above wondering... Can you see my tears? Can you share my pain? Can you hear my thoughts? Lifting my head, through damp eyes, noticed a tiny shell resting on another's edge. Examined the spiral within a spiral, once a life within a life... left behind in memory of someone "special". I have nothing to leave this time only sorrowful news and eternal love. Leaning, my body against for support now peacefulness entered my soul, stilled my shaking arresting my thoughts hoping the winds of today will dry my tears, becoming the soft breezes of my tomorrows. My kissed fingers touched your etchings saying goodbye, before walking the paths of others, reaching out to touch their warmth in passing hoping they too, can feel mine knowing a part of my heart remains for all to share in eternal peace. M 9*2k "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |

Hi Fallen Rain, This was very beautifully sad, I too understand because I lost both parents when I was young and ended up with someone that did not deserve kids and it has taken my whole life to understand them, I always wonder what life would of been like and if I would of been happy. Bitter sweet the rain can be because some times when the rain pours there comes understanding at least for me, I wish you the very best, this is very wonderful work and I want to welcome you to passions, I look forword to more, Love, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. g, beautifully done... haunting, aching with your loss... but still shining through the rain is the love you feel for your father. I haven't spoken with my father for nine years; I'm not sure if he is still alive. Your poem is a reminder that there is still time for me to make amends because, like you, there are so many people who don't get to fully know a parents's love when they are taken away too soon. Well written; keep talking to your father... he hears you and one day you will get to talk to him in person again ) Hugs - Jeff |

Hey DgV... You know something..my Dad hasn't died, but I am not really in contact with him. If ever we talk there is awkwardness and a knowledge he doesn't love me. It's christmas now and I really miss him...or more I miss not having a Dad. I am so sorry for your loss, and the continued grief - I'm sure it's really hard to be in that place. In some way, some measure I understand. I think, if you look inside for your memories he will be there. Those memories of love you are so lucky to have hon. Hugs K |

Welcome to Passions. I have been here....standing alone in a cold cemetery, looking down at my parent's graves and crying, feeling so alone, knowing I can't see them. Then I look around to see if anyone is watching and I cry some more, then I look up....and I somehow, see them. It makes all the difference.
