New York. Drops of rain on the tables Reflect the skyscrapers And the fly on the window buzzes At the flashing-by buses The green of the Central Park attracts More people than Saks On fifth avenue. As the gravity pulls down Warm rays, all around Grass breaks through the molten granite. No where else on the planet Does the eye meet such metamorphosis. Long abandoned offices, Warm showers, sunshine, morning dew... My applause to you! “Big Apple,” I beg you with all my soul, Please, resist the fall. < !signature--> Check out my poetry here: http://cafepoetry.com/stage1/andrey_kneller.htm#My%20Hamlet [This message has been edited by Master (edited 12-23-2000).] |
