Reflection He vanished into darkness when the tide rolled in, without a parting word - to a secluded space, his solitary place. In a small wooden boat he left Wildwood Isle, how perfect that it should rain, how forlorn the dock’s end, nothing but time to spend. Days pass, to dull recall - a tangible kind of loss but, it does not subside, as March concludes, solace eludes. I wade into opaque waters warmed by April sun, see his reflection - a mirage that glimmers sub aqua, it shimmers. © 2000 Corinne Bailey |

This is incredibly beautiul, sad, and yet hopeful...I loved the last stanza especially. Wonderful! *Krista Knutson* "One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar." Helen Keller |

The vast expanse of his seclusion makes it pretty difficult to find him, doesn't it?... Nice one, Corinne.. |

wow, a poem that is at once beautiful and filled with lost and yearning, an excellent piece. "In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor" Joy division |

Corinne~ Reflections of melancholy longing. So aptly portrayed with beauty. *Hugs* to you and yours for the holidays, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Danke, Balladeer and JWesley, probably not fit poetry for the time of year, but the close of one year does give one pause to reflect. Cor |
