Nomadic sailors set adrift, Faceless names in failing ships, Endless paths through endless seas, Sailing through infinities. Two bows brush in darkest night, Two hands touch in briefest flight, Two souls meet unwittingly, Small islands in a cyber sea. A lantern lit by dual consent, A ray of light both never meant, Small beacon few can understand, In search of welcome distant land. Two boats joined in single ship By hearts upon a common trip, No longer faceless entities, One island in a cyber sea. |

Two ships once foundering by night, Mainsails enjoined, light winds' delight. Two reefs of sand one cyber isle With hearts resounding, vibratile. One lantern yields enlightenment Held tandemly by night's descent. A beacon from twilight to morn In passion's wake, new journeys born. No distant land may lie beyond; All shores succumb to common bond. Sojourn as one, with sail a'furl, The sea shall hold no hidden pearl. Embarking hence from worldly mere, Life's trek from cyber sea to sphere To waft new trails as life may wend In quest as one, the rainbow's end. Truly amazing work, Ron. Few have been the moments when I could look upon your work with the time to enjoy each nuance, each semantical wordplay, each scancion. And Nan...wonderful reply in wisdom's array...very enlightening, and joined seamlessly with Ron's original work. Bravo! Can't wait to see how this new forum goes...gonna be a big hit. |

ron. nice work here. I liked the imagery and such but the word infinities seems a little bit of a stretch to me. but that's just my opinion. other than that I liked that poem. and this forum is pretty nice as well. I'm looking it over and sending little tidbits of things to nan. she'll let you know what I have to say. I think. hehehehe |

Wonderfully done Ron (you too Nan). The rhyme and meter met beautifully with the nautical theme. |

Can this man do everything? Is he the Potentate of Poetry? I think yes. Ron, you write such lovely, wonderful poetry (and your prose ain't shabby either). And you've created a home for the passionate poets that is utterly fantastic. I'm going put your name down as a write in candidate for President of the United States! Imagine what a better place this would be if President Ron Carnell was in charge! Thanks for the great poem and the grand home! (excuse me, it's time for my anti-gush shot!) |

Oh my Ron.... You made my heart skip a beat. However silly that may sound. I couldn't have said it better if I had written that myself. You captured a very strong emotion there. What a beautiful sentiment. From a woman who found love on the cyber seas.....sigh....how wonderful. Enough mush...I did want to say how much I'm enjoying the new forum. This is truly exciting. Keep up the great work Ron!! Sally |

What a pair Ron and Nan, a duo ... So much from these two. Oh! While all the rest of us hustle and bustle to do what we can... the best we can do is follow Ron and Nan! ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

I can't believe this thing came back around after all this time, and I hadn't even commented on it the first time ! What was I thinking? It inspired me to write my Keystroke Lover, I guess I was in such a hurry to grab a pen, I forgot to tell you how exquisite this piece is -- sorry ! I'm glad I finally got around to it, and very glad to see this back up at the top where it belongs! ------------------ - poet FemmeFatale "The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone..." My most humble appreciation to you all - and especially to my dear friend, Ron - for inspiring my repartee..... I'll bet that none of you knew - This was the very first poem posted on the new Passions Forums.... Several days before they were opened up for all to enjoy... I'm truly happy that you all have enjoyed this one so much... ------------------ Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done: For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits, Than I am sure I have in my whole five. ~ ²1592 Wm. Shakespeare ~ Romeo & Juliet ~ ii. iv. 75 |

*sigh* So many replies and my words have been said... I truly had tears welling up here. Lovely, lovely, lovely... ------------------ ~onevoice~ "She looked at her life like lines, never-ending, constantly forming, reforming and bending." |

This is a truly great poem to those of us who have lived it, Ron. I agree with the other sentiments here; you should definitely write more. Gratz on 5 years too btw. I still remember way back when you first started Passions. What a wonderful story that is. All I have to say is, "I told ya so." You are completely responsible for the whole scale changes in my life within those 5 years too you know. By teaching me it was ok to share my emotions, you opened up a miserable young man up to a world of true love and happiness he never would have known otherwise. Yesterday was Linda’s and my 4-year anniversary. We both wish to say, "Thank you." Michael |
