Dear Lady,

Yesterday
when the sun glared down
I stood within the square
centered
colors unnatural
gleamed off gold buildings
while church bells sang to soothe the crazed
arms outstretched I hummed
while pigeons conversed
we sat together and spoke of you
and they flew in perfect sequence
I dream tonight of San Marco
and your dainty hands
holding kernels
you were young
wild
unaware of the memories
that would carve deep into the cobblestone
while with frightened ease, you too
laughed with the pigeons

Ah...

And the poems bloom
under the kiss
of poetry.

Well done, Dominique!

Page
this sings so well
we should all feed the pigeons
for the first time
when we are young
I was a little envious
but I love the picture of you
with that goofy Venetian bird

one of your best Monklet!
