I would never try to talk you into my arms, You might feel trapped, if that was not where you wanted to be, But if I found you there I would hold you close and tender, long, feeling your every breath, I don't want to change your life, but if your life changed for the better, because of me, a tear in my eye, to show the joy that you bring, I would never steal your kiss, But if my lips met yours I would be drunk with the wine of your love, to drink slowly, and deeply, Savor, every drop, every moment, And if life brought us together, I would not hold you so tightly that you felt like a prisoner, I would show you the freedom that true love brings, I would give you the courage to reach for the stars, Careful to keep your feet on the ground, Though you reach for Heaven, I would hope that you find me at the end of your grasp |
