I sit beside the silvered loch, Give my words to the wind, In the hope that they find their way to you. Carried by the breeze across ocean miles To lay a kiss upon your sleeping lips. The mist conjours fleeting ghosts That dance through highland glens, Bruised purple by their heather shroud. I dance there too, with thoughts of you And what I've left behind. The eagle soars to the call of the solitary piper as he stands, Upon the field of a battle long passed. His mournful notes touch the fragile heart I gave, in time, to you. I drink from the mountain stream, As it tumbles from snow capped hills. Watch as the white horses play in the foam. And awaken childish images of knights I sought, But never thought I'd find. The day fades and I pass with it., I exist now in your dreams, where I wait To lace your fingers through my own. And speak words I promised to the wind, My love, I''m coming home. |
