5722 Last Days of Summer 26 September 2006 Sometimes there was sorrow, other times there was the wind. A moment brushing at your side, a moment, no one else would truly feel. While others leave an everlasting imprint, as if that was to be engraved as to no other. A relationship, so entangled, it would never ever go away. Because in such a relation, memories were fireproof, or so strong they do stay. These lessons we treasure as to trekking through our own lives. Some perhaps of love, lost or found again. The kind of love, never to forget, in the smile of a face or name. Just to walk down near the waterfront and catch the last few days of summer. Because then there was tomorrow, not of the winter, but the springing of a new beginning, one never known, yet always with us, maybe this was love © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
