his days trail
dimness urges his heels
Panama hangs limp
cigar stales
hands crave shadow hair
mouth needs red lip
cannot sleep
dreams wrap him
he struggles

dressed in close fitting ache
he watches life
a show
not for him to play

his ground has shifted
lady has taken his true crossing
the place he stands a man

follows his heartbeat
naked star
to where she lies
stands outside
makes no move

papa walks out
arrete toi
stop you

   she here?
he asks
small

wha’ you say bon rien
you say she here?
you say my doucette here?
passe’
leave dog
you want faire la misere
again some more
you don’t do nuff?
my doucette called your name
till the end
where you was then?
you wan kill her maman?
she don cry nuff please you?
coeur cassé
broken heart
goin’ now
fetch my twice barrel shoot gun

charcoal man wanders river
fields
canebrake
dares not sleep
to dreams of small coffin
draped in white
holding his heart

They have got it bad -- and so do I.  I feel like this voyeur peeking in their window with a glass against the wall and my ear pressed to it.

Leaving us in fields of haunted love, are you now?

Some story-teller you are, m'dear.  It has been a pleasure, and I look forward to the conclusion.

And check your mail!

I agree with aziza. Your vivid portrayals lead me to feel as though I am a voyeur observing their intimate moments.

I was getting worried about you…
no hurry
they’re still here
waiting for you…

that’s how I felt too jo…
she suffered
crying for him

thank you

I feel the same way…

It kind of hurts to read these one after another.  I just want them to be happy. I love them, you know.
