lady is heart hurt no la la la song no red lip bent to smile no sweet voice making ya ya no slender whisper lady wanders maman’s house lost kneels to pray tell chapelet slipping beads thought of cigar smoke patchouli ail her memories visit her fille bed dream of brown hand soft mustache kiss lip she cries out to the dark jésus dieu aidez-moi help me look maman lady steps back opens arms gone ground I stand on air I breathe maman frets papa pleads come my doucette sit under pecan tree tell me your heart breathe doucette just breathe lady wanders lost yet never alone sunshine day river soothe singing twig leg ibis picking at bank breeze blow bying her window lady takes to her bed makes cry big big cry |
