Where the Heroes Ran/When All the Prophets Died Where sullen skies shed shells, the old men cursed heroes clothed in blood that ran like salty Koolaid in ancient streets. When every creed was vengeance, all gods turned snarling faces to the gaunt and silent children; then prophets saw their visions proved; and - smiling- died. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
