Final Judgment Soon an humble man and decent, Another proud and vile, Will stand before your heavenly court; Their records in your file. Of these two men before you, Lord, Their final judge to face, One left this world witrh honor The other in disgrace. One lived with honest dignity Into his tenth decade. The other had his life cut short For debts that must be paid. The first man answered to the call When his country was in need; Fulfilled his duties bravely With valor, grit and speed. The other took his power by force, With cruel gun and sword. His subjects learned to fear him And tremble at his word. Why they chose such different ways No mortal understands. From you no truths are hidden and Their fate lies in your hands. By: Joyce 12/30/06 |
