Farewell my sweet elusive dove, Please sweep away your tears, 'Twas you - I only ever loved, And happy were my years. And as each leaf is falling, Blown by winds obscure, Long my heart be calling, For our souls to long endure. For your heart is not for grieving, With this… our last goodbye, And I hate the thought of leaving, Or knowing I must die. Unseen I'll flit on your fair cheek, Look down and gently smile, My love for you I'll always seek, And joyful - that we loved awhile Poetry is just the evidence of life. |

...so soft, and sweet, and sad... Thy quill be that of a dove's feather. EA |

A most heartfelt epitaph... would you consider switching the last two quatrains... check it out and see how it reads... just a thought. MoonShadow |
