She was a vision in pink
Yellow curls spilling down her neck
Her tiny hands still clutching flowers
When they found her in the wreck!
She had walked down the aisle
An adorable flower girl,
Tossing rose petals to and fro
Smiling her last smile
But how were we to know?
A tiny life cut short
In the middle of the night
Leaving grieving parents knowing
Their world would never be right!

“Have another drink my friend
Why not have two or three
I’m all alone tonight
And I want some company
What’s that you say
I’m too drunk to drive?”
Yes you were my friend
Now that little child’s
No longer alive!
Was that drink so important
That you could take a life
The fact that you survived
Haunts that husband and wife

They will always remember
When they found her in that wreck
Her yellow curls were covered in blood
Her head severed at the neck!
So have another drink my friend
As you step up to the bar
I wonder how many people you’ll kill
When you get into your car!
