...for my dancing man When the right man smiled it would be music skittering up her calf ~ Rita Dove that first dance imprints itself like moss clinging to the mind the inside of the body damp mossy memory of arms wrapped ‘round a neck hands gripping a waist slow sway words escaping from warm lips lilting past a cheek music just this side of the sky crooning tighten your wings we’re going up remember the smooth elgin movement of that first dance know this is how it will be always and yet better |
