You said you loved me
Yet you couldn’t trust me
You said you loved me
Yet you let your mother get in the way
You said you loved me
Yet you choose your mom over me
You said we’d always be together
I guess you were wrong
You said I love you
I believed you
You said you’re too special
I’ll never let you go
I guess you were wrong
It’s over
Now what?

I understand this and also think it is a good write.  nice pleasant flow to it and captures the frustration the writer is feeling.

Sounds like he forgot the leaving the parents and cleaving to the wife part, huh?

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
