Hey everyone. Wrote this the other day, and I really like it. I think it's one of my best, hopefully someone agrees. There's a scar on your stomach, where the doctor made incisions. Removed what wasn't needed, and sewed you back up. You know I had the same procedure, but when my mind drifts to you. The stitches tear wide open, and memories flood in again. Your back room was dim, but the light sufficed. Where you read that little book, with words for each letter. Well when you get to G, let me know what comes to mind. Tell me if there's a name, that means anything to you, anymore. Sixteen years of your life, the water tower, at the peak of town. Was strewn with a star, but it was nothing new to me. And as we swang in the park, you saw it for the first time. You just stared at the blue, and I looked and I smiled. So let it's light guide you home, cause I'm not there to drive you. It'd be dangerous on your own, your eyes reflected all the light on the road. As for me, I'll drive with my eyes closed, my mirrors aren't here to deflect them. The beams go straight to my eyes, wouldn't want you to wake up to a car wreck. |
