little bugs
crawl all over the walls and counters
searching for something sweet to eat

i wonder how many there are
and where they come from

how do they know when i spill my soda
or leave some fruit on the table?

they are so little
yet their world is so huge

what do they think about when they see a cinnamon bagel with strawberry jelly the size of Candlestick Park?

Do thier little buggy mouths begin to salivate?

Is it thier ultimate goal in life to go swimming in that endless ocean of strawberry sweetness?

Do they feel any pain when I squish them before they make it?
