Dinner with Coltrane Our last evening spent together Was romantically set in blue candles, The brilliant sounds of John Coltrane And a late meal on the balcony, As the moon shined on my hopes Of you giving me this last chance… I wanted to shower you with love and words, Appealing to that part of you that still cared; But the sounds of Coltrane blew to life Those beats in your beautiful heart And I could see by your smile His hypnotizing notes touched your soul Like butterflies scattering in a yellow field Or red and orange leaves showering a playful child. Are those tears you now cry for me? Or are they a need to understand the sweet silence Heard between the sobs of his silver sax Blowing into the night, my sins and your forgiveness… Marcel |

Okay, now you gotta write the sequel! What was the answer? Inquiring poets want to know Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |
