I have recently moved to the Sonora Pass invited by a large field of yellow sneezeweed a lakelet and a few larkspurs that believe they knew me in another life I carry hard bread in my pocket walk the chill toe to heel once my bewilderment wore off I grew to know the canyon wall its sheer rise sheer fall I learned to sleep on a ridge of hope dreaming only of dreaming and walking the chill |
