Change

A thinker with a tinker’s pen
Still writing links of now and then
And playing all of who am I
Those bouncing balls of echoes cry

They rebound in the dark of night
Fireflies that wink in light
Soundless in the winds that blow
They seem to print that I don’t know

Which only makes me roar the more?
A spirit caged in earthly core
Locked in gravity held in air
Is almost more than I can bear

I havoc in the force of change
With no defense I can arrange
It burns my wick into an ash
And weighs me down in sands of cache

I only know I’ll turn to dust
That force of change for readjust

You write well of the inevitable, Sy

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Your writing makes me feel complete in some way -- it's like I feel the words as I read.  I love that.

Your rhymes are exquisite, your thoughts profound.
And thank you, Sy, for reading and gently replying to one of my writes earlier.

Oh dear, there is that awful word "Change", again. I kind of like things like they are.
