In an upside-down garden

Little girls
fold notes in hands
and slip them secretly away

to those
who lay and wait and
stack the cards
to fall in the order of

Superlatives
and consequence
directs the nearest place of
death and the division of

the people falls to you,
a barrier too difficult to break
through, hands held making
bridges between beds and you
have made a town out of this

Love, or something
that may have once resembled it
and built the walls of bread and
beer and all the things forgotten
when last year because the best
for

Salvation

Or compromise, it is hard
to tell the faces apart,
pressed against the window
hard, and staring secret glances

too stern to understand
the words on the wall,
they mean nothing to you
but to me, they say

"choose"

Between
fingers on my hand pulling
skin apart from
something
you are touching too
much and I am
falling

too fast
to wonder
why he is touching
your hair.

The closing lines in this felt so sad. You portray emotions well in words.
