Sky In the purple shades of twilight 'Neath the polka dotted starlight Comes a peace as night time lowers a final curtain to the floor All my troubles seem to wither As the shadows slip and slither God’s own splendor drawing hither to erase a scathing sore ‘Tis the sky and nothing more What design does nature render To a spirit frail and tender That would change a dire moment to the wealth of golden ore? What do gleaming planets offer Into mankind’s treasured coffer But a universe to proffer splendors it has shown before? These are stars and nothing more Through the mist of winter storming Came this show without forewarning All the heavens ablaze with constellations shining shore to shore On a night unlike another What power is this that came to smother All the chaos that had plagued my spirit only hours before? Omnipotence, and nothing more Elizabeth Santos |

Dear Liz, If I may still call you that, thanks for this. I thought your whole piece to be well constructed to your subject, and your sincerity lends a touch my own work seems to be lacking of late. An excellent write. Doc |

I liked this poem as well... your rhyming doesn't detract from the subject and is well placed. |

I know you sunshine, and am blessed by the knowing! Your a beautiful little book of rhyme, a potter with high quality design, natural skill, sensitivity and cognitive sketches, carve in the clay of poetry and life. Your words of song are extremely aesthetic, rich and diverse with imagination, as we poets continue our search for meaning within ourselves, finding our place in life. You, dear poetess enrich the reader. To create with words, is to create within ourselves...spreading framework for others to receive. Sing my friend, sing.... Luv You |

Liz, I do believe that you have even eclipsed yourself! I can do no better than jo has written in her response! Her words have to make you smile ~ and deservedly so, Lady Santos! Beauty flows from you like sap from a sugar maple in springtime! Loving hug, Linda |
