Is It Yours or Is It Mine? A poem written by Suthern, Marsha and Kethry After seeing a sign on Plagiarism at Kent University, Canterbury Campus. We love each other dearly we’re really close to heart and sometimes when all my words end yours already start We write verses together as poets often do but sometimes when I see your name it gives another clue… to what you might be thinking an insight to your plan. Then I see the words are mine and realise it’s a scam. You says it’s inspiration but when I recognise all the words you’ve written down it opens up my eyes! Each syllable familiar, I’ve seen these words before but are they mine or are they yours? I’m never really sure. When you raid my closet the ownership is known but when we’re talking written word, you claim my thoughts your own I strive to find the right words ones that tell the tale to see them under your name makes me want to wail. My writing’s not a recipe to alter at your ease you only changed the title and called my work your piece You took my perspiration and claimed it as your own accept congratulations and know our friendship’s blown They say that you’re a poet perhaps they’re speaking true but sharing words is one thing, stealing words - a coup. Accept felicitations from foes and friends as well but from this moment onwards I wish you’d rot in hell. © Kethry, Marsha and Suthern Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds but I can face the future with courage brave and bold Footprints In My Heart Kethry [This message has been edited by Sunshine (11-12-2006 08:03 PM).] |

There are three to draw to who could write anything and I would read it Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

Bravo! Not only is this a well written and nicely rhymed piece, it touches on a subject that really pushes my buttons. I think there is a special place in Hell for those poem pirates. You three write so well together I'd never guess this didn't come from one pen. Great stuff here. Take care and Have fun. Steve |

Dear love, There's no picture but still a good poem worth a bump. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Let the plagiaristic pirates beware! The mighty poetess trio is en garde!!! ~ and Hell is a most formidable place! Hopefully any aspiring plagiarist who might be reading this post, will be thwarted from stealing the poetic efforts of others! Good job, Ladies! Linda |

Thank you very muchly Kari, and that sign is drummed into all students at Kent Uni. We were there at the University in Canterbury because we were waiting for Gray, who is a student there. Since we had to wait while he had his meeting and this sign had stuck in our heads, we wrote it together over coffee. Isn't it amazing what we writers find to stir the idea pot? Anyway after writing the poem we went into Canterbury and went into the Cathedral, and everyone it really is incredibly beautiful. We stood on the spot where Thomas Becket was murdered, and therefore became a martyr. Keth took some amazing pictures of the stained glass windows. (I took some too, but they were far from good). Thanks everyone for reading this, and thanks again Kari for putting the poster up as always Mushy x x x x x Ladies, I miss you both so much, come back soon and stay longer next time Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

I miss so much by wandering in and out of this place instead of setting my brake and sticking around for a while! Three of my favorites, people and poets, all in one poem -- and I missed it...... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Uh-huh.....but some of the most important people also say, "better never than late".......I'm glad this particular case wasn't one of those! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I can't read this without remembering the fun it was writing with the two of you... Duets have been few and far between for me... I never dreamed I'd be part of a trio... or that the words would come so easily I could barely write them down fast enough! *S* I would say I was sorry I left the two of you with clean-up duties... but you did such a great job I'm not sorry at all! *S* It was truly a privilege, dear friends... thank you so very much!!! |

It's so easy for someone to steal your poetry off the internet. I have a tendancy to send myself a copy of every poem I write in snail mail, dated and signed by me and left sealed. Don't know if it actually does any good, but at least it's some attempt to safeguard. Anyway, loved the poem. |

Niiice! I'm sorry that you were plagiarized, but look at that! You found inspiration to write another smashing poem. I really enjoyed it. Right on! April-Lyn |
