Nothing More To Say
By Paul Wilson

I never thought it would come down to this
you and I the lesser of each other

A heart without the beat
A sky without the blue
A night without the moon
A ship without the sea

Tender moments I will forever miss
sadly there will never be another

A dream that’s incomplete
A longing to see you
A special afternoon
A lock that has no key

Special times shared I’ll always remember
even though you may not care anymore

A well without water
A bird without it’s wings
A poem without a rhyme
A smile without a face

Will you think of me come this December
and hope I’ll come knocking on your front door

A father missing his daughter
A prayer today and what it brings
A memory that got lost in time
A love I will never replace

Tomorrow will bring a new day
With nothing more for me to say
I hope and pray you are okay
I love you is all I can say

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~

Paul~
You pen so tenderly ...~

'A poem without a rhyme'

Well, sir ... the rhyme isn't always necessary when one has such a marvelous talent for presentation of his thoughts~

A touching poem of hindsight it sounds to me. The title too is somewhat coincidental because it precisely describes my feelings at this time.

Paul, mine turned 18, graduated high school and then moved to Kansas with her boyfriend. She rarely calls or answers her phone. I do understand how you feel. And God it hurts.

Dixie...I guess we are sort of in the same boat but for maybe different reasons. It does hurt everyday but I've done what I could and have run out of hope that we will ever get back together. Thanks so much for you kind words and you stay strong and be ready for that phone call from her...Paul

Paul,
Such touching words penned here for us to read. I almost feel like I'm looking on something not meant for my eyes when reading this as it is such a personal piece.

Paul, my heart goes out to you.  I wish I could say that I don't know what this is like.  However, the upside of not being able to, is that I can tell you that, in my case, is that it has got quite a lot better, which I thought would be impossible.  Thus, no matter how impossible, it may seem in your case, it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE - nothing is impossible.  I just simply refused to take No or Negativity for an answer and kept on and on and on trying and I am still trying.  She now does reply - very briefly, but quite kindly - I will never see her again as she is in Australia and I am in South Africa and neither of us have the money nor the ability, nor probably the desire, to travel to the other's country, not do I think I would be welcome there if I did.  Keep up writing / phoning / visiting, whatever is the best and most feasible in your case.  Don't have nothing more to say.  Keep it up for the rest of your life.  Apologise (even if you did nothing wrong or, as in my case, don't know what you have done), beg, plead, ignore the problem or discuss it, write chatty, friendly emails, send cards electronic or real ones, presents (but not expensive ones - ones that show you have put thought and time into it - even thought into the wrapping paper and the way you wrapped it).  As the parent, it is our place to do that.  We are the ones that must be wiser and more loving, no matter what the circumstances.  My parents didn't/weren't.  I wish you strength, courage, wisdom, determination, peace, the attitude necessary to reach your daughter, and loads and loads of good luck!

Paul, I do not know the circumstances surrounding yours and your daughter's estrangement, but with a father whose love is as deep and as abiding as yours, she surely must be missing you. Hopefully in time the fences will mend ~ or better still ~ come tumbling down and you will be reunited.

Your pen is a veritable extension of your bleeding, yet ever so beautiful, heart.

Giving you a great big healing hug,
Linda
