See the twilight turn from mauve To deeper, deeper blue The lamp fills with pale green light Trees of the avenue Welladay, welladay For the winds I heard say Love is unhappy when love is away Strings play a tune so sweet Strings by the river, were the willows meet There’s music along the river Love dose wander there Dark flowers on her mantel Pale flowers in her hair Welladay, welladay For the winds I heard say Love is unhappy when love is away Play on, unseen harps, to love Whose way in heaven is aglow At that hour when soft lights come and go Sweet music’s in the air above Sweet music’s in the earth below Shy gazes cross an avenue Night sky becoming deeper, deeper blue Welladay, welladay For the winds I heard say Love is unhappy when love is away She sings in the hollow Come follow, come follow For all you that love Leave dreams to the dreamers That will not after The song and laughter The wild bees mum At troops to her shoulder And the time of dreaming Dreams are over As lover to lover |

This ballad had such a soft, soothing effect. It's nice spoken outloud. Thanks for sharing yourself. Take care, Liz...Carpe Diem |
