This sickness
makes my head pound
Eyes ache
until they close
and I forget.

The camera adds ten pounds
My mind adds fifty
Eyes stream
fingers shake
I choke
and pain swirls down the drain
in Technicolour

Another morning
Dawning
of realisation
Awning of pain

Tattered tisue in my hand

A cough
tears my throat, cutting
me with wasted air
Holding me in mortality
Caress my heart, just
don't forget
A mirror makes me bleed

I have an enemy
in every shop window
she tells me with a
double chin and
dizzy spell
I am no one.

Please,
don't try to tell me
with your broken words
and weeping mouth
I Want You To Get Better

I can't
there is no better
only what used to be
And what I must do

I don't want this
anymore
This cycle of Dread
Shame
and heaving for breath.

No more tears
No more pain
Please, no more.

I must tell you that I felt this poem in all it's heartbreaking reality. THIS is was poetry is....making someone feel...

Excellent, excellent work. Please keep writing from your heart and you will always be a great poet!!

And if this is from experience, I hope you know that the feelings you have are feelings that so many of us have - you are just able to put them into words. You inspire us...

I can really feel the inner turmoil.  How gallant are those who face such trials.

Excellently and sensitively expressed! I am not online much, but when I have a chance to read, I'll look in on you and your posts.  Thank you for sharing.

This touches me on a very personal level
and I read so many different types of pain in it.  If this is about you, then I would offer, rely on yourself, your strength, and know that you are beautiful. If not about you, then please let this person know that they are beautiful too.

We are here, listening.  I have had the displeasure of dealing with many of these issues in my life and in the lives of those I love.

If I am not overstepping my bounds, I would share something with you that I shared with someone very close to me in real life.
From a song, "it's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who your not"

If you ever need an ear, I'm just an email away.

Poet DeVine, Miscellanea and Gentle Spirit ~ your posts made me want to cry. I couldn't have asked for warmer and kinder replies.

yes, I remember a quote that was something like "The trouble is, most of us would rather be ruined by praise than be saved by criticism." Kind of not the same but you know.
I wrote this after I had a bit of an episode with cardiac arrhythmia. You know the side effects but the battle to stop is too overpowering.
Much love and laughter to the beautiful people at Pip.
