A Heart Too Tender

Sometimes, I wonder if
My heart isn’t too tender
To do the work I do

To take care of one who
Is lying on their death bed
Just tears my heart in two

Young and old alike
It doesn’t seem to matter
They suffer just the same

I want to make them live
To save them from their misery
But, I always seem to fail

I know that I’m not God
Still, I would ease their pain
If only I could

The only thing I can do is
Try to bring some joy to their life
For whatever time they may have

I do my very best to
Hold back the tears
So they don’t see me cry

I feel anger inside my heart
And I question God as to why
They have to endure such pain

It just breaks my heart to
See them suffer so much
And there is nothing I can do

All I can do for now is just
Give them all the love I
Have inside me

... and you have a lot to give

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Sue, if it weren't for you,
and caretakers such as yourself,
the world would indeed be a much sorrier place.

It takes a very special person
to do the work you do, and to face it
each and every day.

I hope that when I am faced with such a
situation, I will have someone caring for me
who loves me like you do for your patients.

Thank you!

It's a hard job Sue...and it takes a special person to be able to do it with a caring heart.

Seems you're on the right place on the right time with a heart loaded with love Sue.

What would those people do without your caring and loving.
You're an angel.

How do we know angels, by their deeds
Helping others with their needs
with nothing but tears for pay
The sea is salty caues its Sue's & God's from day today

Sue GOD loves you and so do I
