Rewrite: The Bite of Love I wallow in a hollow bowl The clamor wears my very soul This cry in fly that drains me pale Has harpoon struck my heart in wail? The echoes spin a seamless web A tide that never seems to ebb A sight that haunts my dreams at night This song a whale might sing in flight There is no way that I can say I would it were another way To hold her hand and say I’m there To dull her pain, at least to share I kiss her on the cheek each day To ask forgiveness in a way I do not think she understands Each kisses bit of contraband I sorrow she will never know This love I have and cannot show |
