PLANS FOR A PLAN FOR A PLAN FOR A .........

It's been another year of politics
Of them trying to pass the buck
While victims wait for promised help
But most are plainly out of luck.

Those in charge of the help to come
All say that they have a plan
And they will turn it into action
Just as quickly as they can.

The Feds have promised many billions
That's the plan they have in place
But the dollars that the people get?
There seems to be hardly a trace.

Hundreds of millions spent on trailers
That sit somewhere wasting away
Just another plan that went awry
Although why, no one can say.

The President said, this anniversary
Is not the end, but just the start
Well Pres, don't you think it's time
The Federal government did its part?

We send millions to other countries
Like two hundred thirty to Lebanon
To help them rebuild from that war
When it's probably not even done.

We want to be the World's savior
And spend our dollars “over there”
When we have our own here at home
Who ask, “Doesn't anybody care?”

The states and locals have plans, too
But few if any, are in place
Too many politicians saying anything
In a futile effort to save face.

Then there are insurance companies
Who reach out, when premiums are due
But try to file a legitimate claim
They'll say, “We don't cover that for you!”

The worst part of the whole thing
Is not the storm of winds and rain
It's all the lies of  those we trust
Who have caused the greatest pain.

There's no place for people to get help
Plans and promises turned to lies
A Government that turns its back
Then, wonders why, faith in it dies?

And on the other hand I received this in an email.  Interesting!

What is a Billion ???

The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.

a. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
b. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
c. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
d. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
e. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans .. It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?

a. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you each get $516,528.
b. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.
c. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

BRAVO!!!

Washington, D.C .. HELLO !!! ...
Are all your calculators broken ??

Not only are their calculators broken,
their brains are missing.

Yet, 'he' continues to pour money into a
war that is totally ridiculous.

Thank you for your words and please
send them off to www.president@whitehouse.gov

(angel comfort hugs) Oh Abe, it is indeed so heartaching to hear about, dearest friend, of course those who struggle most of all out of this negligence are the families themselves, as while the current administration is adamant about tax cuts for the wealthiest razor-thin minority of Americans and spending billions into such things as a disastrous quagmire in Iraq, the levees are not getting the proper funding they need (and still don't according to the U.S Army Corp Of Engineers) while the very food stamps and health care services and such the poorest of Americans count on to keep getting by are being cut due to the cuts. (sad sigh) I believe the Katrina tragedy proves exactly why this sort of permanent tax cut agenda hurts this country, and we seriously need to stop diverting our attention to the "long war" in the Middle East which the neo-conservatives are pushing and go back to re-building America first as that new Merle Haggard song says! (wipes tear) God Bless You, dearest friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Abe, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I live not to far from good ole Lake Erie. When I was a kid there was no breakwall. One year the water came rolling in. High winds, high water and a mess on its way. I remember how we stacked our belongings on top of the bed, but that ole water came in the front door right on up the bed, the stove, the dryer and anything else that was in the way.
Mud and filth. The house sitting crooked off its little cement slab. We all (3) pitched in and started to clean and throw away damaged items (everything). That year my lungs got burned from the cleaning. My folk, poor working class had insurance. So they took up the house several cement blocks and they remodled the inside. But to this day I remember the day good ole Lake Erie came threw the front door.

Hugs
