Into The Mourning When shadows fill a heart grown weary, When grieving eyes again grow teary. When tomorrow seems far too bleary. I fall back Into the mourning. When all I have lived haunts my dreams, When nightmare voices find their screams, When my soul is tore from its very seams, I fall back Into the mourning. When I feel my Lord is too far away, When my spirit has lost its nerve to pray, When the words of pain are too hard to say, I fall back Into the mourning. But just one kindness will have a way To dry sore tears for another day And give hope there is somehow a way To make it Until the new morning. Then dark terrors will crawl back to their space Leaving an open, viable place Where my soul might find her original grace To make it Until the new morning. And realize I will my prayers were heard I just didn’t recognize the word The answer was “no”, I am now assured I will make it Until a new morning. |
