The Beanstalk I climbed a beanstalks twisted lie High, high into the sky Supported by each leaf received That is what, I believed I watered me a base of grime Spending, a life of time Searching o’er horizons block To open up a lock Within the clouds and wash of brake Through prisms colored wake I see the pinks and gold and blue I see the soul of you And as I suck this nectar dry I drift and know why I’m melting in what seems a dream And running out of steam By loosing my facilities Those wings of my abilities |

" I climbed a beanstalks twisted lie" I love this opening line. It speaks to me of all the times we've followed a fairytale only to find that our own ending is not the happily ever after we sought. There is a hint of passing regret in your poem that touched me and I found both thought and pleasure in your words. A lovely poem. |
