5636 The Iron Maiden 22 August 2006 Her heart was like gold yet cold and hard to find A precious metal, soft to touch yet as steel, in this iron rod to hold Her soul was enriched as to the land of Canaan she did live Her name was beauty in the eyes of God but who stole her heart, as to the Midas touch A steam engine, a train transformed on rails this Tania of Ontario, did she care or were words, those to give in another way Time taken, this love gifted in amour no wonder there was a lock, upon the heart of her door Secrets told, affection given but what of her, a maiden of iron Maybe she would never know love for did she understand what that was to give © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
