I miss you tonight
Tears slide down my windows tonight.
And I miss you.
I wish I had seen you more
We could have had coffee and talked
But, now I just hold wishes
You would smile
Maybe you are smiling at me now
Smiling, you would just
Say nothing.
And there is nothing
To say, no hugs to share, your smile is gone
I miss you tonight

aziza, even sometimes with company one can feel this way, I hope you find what's missing soon dear friend, even a phone call, music from a while ago, pictures in the mind, you can be happy in yourself then others will crave your company, be well my friend, thanks for sharing tonight.

Thank you both for taking the time to write a few words to this poem. This one was a - well, I wrote it Friday when I found out about the death of a brother in law. Former, but someone I cared for a lot.

Anyway, it's not about how I view myself - it was about being unable to go the memorial and how I felt.

Enough of the explanation -- thank you is enough to say. Thank you.

I read in one of the replies that you wrote that a former brother-in-law of yours, whom you still cared for, just passed away.

I felt the raw emotion in this spontaneous write. I can sense your loss and wistfulness through your eloquent, poetic expression.
